Water Rates

Customers are billed for their water usage on a monthly basis. Water charges reflected on monthly utility bills are a combination of a base service delivery charge and a metered consumption usage charge.

The Evans City Council adopted in November, 2010 changes to the Water Utility's conservation tier thresholds for residential consumption effective January, 2011. Reflected on residential utility bills are the following adopted changes to the consumption tiers and the respective rates:

1,000 gallons to 16,000 gallons - $2.90 per 1,000 gallons
16,001 gallons to 22,000 gallons - $4.73 per 1,000 gallons
Over 22,000 gallons - $7.77 per 1,000 gallons

Base Service Delivery Charge is:
City residential water utility customer - $12.50 p/month
Out-of-City residential water utility customer - $13.50 p/month

In comparison, the prior residential water consumption tiers and rates were:

1,000 gallons to 16,000 gallons - $2.73 per 1,000 gallons
16,001 gallons to 22,000 gallons - $4.56 per 1,000 gallons
Over 22,000 gallons - $7.60 per 1,000 gallons
