2.22.010 Public works and planning department established--Director. There is established the department of public works and planning, the director of which shall be the public works and planning director. The public works and planning director shall be appointed by and shall be under the supervision of the city manager. In the absence of a public works and planning director, the city manager may appoint an acting public works and planning director. (Ord. 762-90: 615-85)
2.22.020 Public works and planning director--Responsibilities. A. The public works and planning director shall be responsible for operation and maintenance of the streets, drainage, solid waste disposal, and engineering of the city. He shall also be responsible for the care and custody of the property used by the department. The director shall further have those duties and responsibilities as may from time to time be given him by ordinance or by the city manager.
B. The director of public works and planning shall also be responsible for administering and enforcing the city zoning code, the comprehensive plan and the subdivision regulations and shall be assisted in this capacity by other employees under his direct supervision as well as assistance from the police department for violations. 2.22.030 Utility director--May be same. The same person may be both the director or acting director of the utilities department and the public works and planning department. (Ord. 762-90: 615-85)
