During the spring and summer months, the City of Evans receives many complaints of high grass and weeds on both residential and commercial properties. Not only do the high grass and weeds look bad, they can also be a health and safety risk.
All weeds and grass must be 12” or less in height and all noxious weeds must be completely removed. See Chapter 8.24.050 of the Municipal Code. This does not include flowers, herbs, or other garden type vegetables, but does include plants such as dandelions. The most common weeds around the City are goat heads, kochia, foxtail and mustard. To report weeds in your area please call, Jacque Ehrett at (970) 475-1120.
Noxious Weeds
The State of Colorado has a great web site dedicated to the issue of noxious weeds, which include thistle, Russian knapweed, and white top.
Please, cut and remove your weeds and help us improve the City of Evans!
