Community Outreach and Police Services

City of Evans Colorado

In an effort to provide the highest quality of services to our community, the police department facilitates the following community based programs.

  • The Citizens Police Academy: A 10-week program focused on educating citizens about issues and training facing modern police officers. Academy schedules vary throughout the year.
  • The Neighborhood Watch Program: Facilitates communication between neighbors and develops a partnership with police and citizens for the safety and security of area neighborhoods.
  • National Night Out: An extension of neighborhood watch that encourages neighbors to gather together and get to know each other on a more personal level.
  • The CrimeCam Program: A video camera used by police officers for Community-Oriented Policing and Problem Solving projects in areas that are experiencing recurring crime problems. The goal is to record criminal activity and identify suspects for the purpose of criminal investigations and prosecutions.
  • Santa Cops Program: A county-wide program that provides Christmas gifts to less fortunate families through monetary community donations.

Any persons interested in taking part in any these programs should contact the Evans Police Department Community Outreach and Police Services office at (970) 475-1145.
