In an effort to curb vandalism in city parks, the Evans Police Department has installed “Damage” cameras in its parks. These digital cameras are designed to record activity in the parks, with a goal of identifying suspects who vandalize equipment and structures.
“We want the parks to remain a nice place for citizens to go, relax and feel safe”, says Officer Yates of the Evans Police Department. By installing cameras, police officers will receive a digital image of any suspect who chooses to damage city property. Hopefully, suspects will think twice before damaging trees or spraying graffiti on the park pavilions.
All City of Evans parks are open daily from 5:00 am until 10:00 pm. If you see suspicious activity in or near the parks, please call police. To report suspicious activities, call 970-356-1212 (choose option #4).
