2.12.010 Established Chief of police authority. There is hereby established the department of police, the director of which shall be the chief of police. (Ord. 273, 1973)
2.12.020 Police officers commissioned—Enforcement authority. The city manager shall commission all police officers to perform the functions of the police department. All commissioned officers of the police department are authorized to enforce the ordinances of the city and the statutes of the state. (Ord. 273, 1973)
2.12.030 Duties and functions. The duties and functions of the director and department of police shall be the enforcement of city ordinances and resolutions, as directed by the city council, and the enforcement of state laws as directed by the statutes of the state of Colorado. The director shall also be responsible for the care and custody of the property used by the department of police. He shall also serve as director of all public safety activities other than building inspections. (Ord. 273, 1973)
