Councilmember Burmont was appointed to the City Council in February, 2005, re-elected in April, 2006 and appointed to fill a vacancy in April, 2011. He was then re-elected in April, 2012 to a four year term. He also serves on the Evans Economic Development Council.
A native of Colorado, Fred is a graduate of the University of Colorado in Boulder, with a BS degree in Business, majoring in Accounting and Finance and has completed graduate work in Marketing Research. He is a Colorado-licensed CPA, providing clients with business financial planning and analysis services.
Fred has 15 years of fiscal experience in public finance, including five years as Director of Finance and City Manager for the City of Manitou Springs, six years as Director of Finance & Record for the City of Boulder and four years as Finance & Budget Director for the El Paso County Department of Public Health and Environment.
He most recently served as the Vice President of Finance for Upstate Colorado Economic Development a not-for-profit agency devoted to supporting economic development and job opportunities in Weld and Larimer County communities.
Fred has 25 years of experience as a business Chief Financial Officer (CFO), including 15 years as Financial Vice President of Chaparral Industries, a manufacturing company headquartered in Denver. For six years he served as Senior Business Manager/Division Controller for Knowledge Interact, a division of Soft Bank / Comdex, and for four years as the CFO for Staodynamics, a publicly-held manufacturer of electronic devices.
