Fences and walls can not exceed 6 feet in height, or be located on any public right-of-way without the written consent of the Public Works Director. If your fence is in the public right of way, you may be required to remove or relocate it. Make sure you locate the property line and construct your fences on your property, not public right-of-way. If your fence is in the front yard it can not exceed 48 inches in height. Please maintain a 5 foot minimum clearance from fire hydrants.
A fence permit is required for all new fences and walls in the US 85 corridor. The materials and colors chosen should be the same as or similar to new or existing, conforming structures on adjacent lots. For specific material requirements please, see Chapter 8.24.120 of the Municipal Code.
